Microsoft adds AI Copilot key to Windows 11 keyboards
Microsoft has announced a major shakeup to the world of personal computers with the introduction of a dedicated AI key on Windows 11 machines. This “Copilot key,” as it’s called, marks the biggest change to PC keyboards since the introduction of the Windows key itself in the 1990s.

Copilot, powered by OpenAI technology, is more than just a digital helper. It’s an intelligent companion designed to seamlessly integrate into the user’s workflow. The Copilot key, marked by the ribbon-like Copilot logo, replaces either the right ‘CTRL’ key or the menu key depending on the keyboard model.
